A toilet request is more useful when it identifies what changes during filling, flushing or standing unused. Describe the symptom without deciding in advance which part needs replacement.
What to document before the visit
- Note whether water appears outside the fixture or the concern is only inside the bowl or tank.
- Record whether the issue happens at every flush.
- Mention other slow or affected fixtures.
Understand the proposed scope
Compare a fixture repair with replacement only after the underlying issue is assessed. Ask whether the price includes the proposed components, removal if needed, installation checks and disposal. Flooring or concealed damage may require a separate scope.
Questions worth asking
- What finding supports the proposed repair?
- Would replacement include disposal and installation materials?
- Is any floor or drain work outside the estimate?
