Sewer line repair
A sewer proposal should explain what was found and where it was found before comparing repair methods. Cleaning a blockage, repairing a damaged section and replacing a line are different scopes.
What to document before the visit
- Record whether several fixtures are affected or just one.
- Locate any existing inspection report or camera recording.
- Describe access constraints such as a driveway, fence or planted area.
Understand the proposed scope
Request the identified location and supporting evidence. Compare investigation, excavation or other access, the proposed pipe work, testing and restoration separately. Ask who determines ownership of the affected section and whether work reaches a public connection.
Questions worth asking
- Can I receive the inspection findings and recording?
- What surface restoration is included?
- What happens if the actual condition differs from the proposal?
