Sewer line inspection
An inspection is most useful when the findings can be reviewed later. Agree on what will be inspected and what written or recorded material you will receive.
What to document before the visit
- Explain whether the inspection supports a purchase, recurring problem or repair proposal.
- Gather earlier findings and known access information.
- Ask how inaccessible or obscured sections will be reported.
Understand the proposed scope
Request an explanation of inspected length, observed conditions and any limitations. A recording alone may need a written interpretation. Ask the provider to distinguish observed conditions from proposed next steps and confirm whether locating a finding is included.
Questions worth asking
- Will I receive the video and a written summary?
- How are locations and inaccessible sections documented?
- Is cleaning or further investigation a separate charge?
