Drain cleaning
A slow drain and a recurring blockage deserve a clear investigation plan. Describe the pattern before choosing a cleaning method.
What to document before the visit
- List affected fixtures and whether they back up together.
- Note when the last cleaning happened and how long improvement lasted.
- Tell the provider about products already used; do not mix drain chemicals.
Understand the proposed scope
Ask what the visit includes before authorizing equipment or access work. Cleaning, camera inspection and pipe repair should have separate scopes. A cleared drain does not by itself explain why a blockage returns. Request findings and an explanation of any proposed next step before agreeing to a repair.
Questions worth asking
- Which drains are included in the quoted visit?
- What would trigger a separate inspection or repair charge?
- Will you document the cause and any limits of the cleaning?
