A whole-home project needs a sequence as much as a design. Define the priorities, occupied areas and decisions that affect several trades.

What to document before the visit

• List rooms and systems included in the project.
• Describe what must remain usable during construction.
• Gather existing drawings, surveys and earlier work records.

Understand the proposed scope

Ask for a plan that connects design, approvals, procurement, construction and completion. Separate phases and identify decisions that must be settled before each begins. Clarify who coordinates trades and tracks change orders. A single price is difficult to compare without a shared scope, allowances, exclusions and a schedule for documenting progress.

Questions worth asking

• Who owns coordination across the full project?
• Which selections or approvals control the schedule?
• How will phase completion and budget changes be recorded?
