Flooring project planning
A flooring quote needs to address the surface beneath the new material. Compare preparation, installation and finishing as well as the product itself.
What to document before the visit
- List rooms, existing materials and transitions between areas.
- Describe use, cleaning preferences and known moisture concerns.
- Record furniture-moving and access arrangements.
Understand the proposed scope
Ask who assesses the existing surface and suitability of the proposed material. Separate removal, preparation, installation, trim and disposal. Clarify any allowances for leveling or repairs and how added work is authorized. Request the manufacturer care information and ask when rooms can be used again. Avoid choosing a finish before its site requirements are assessed.

- Who moves furniture and handles removal or disposal?
- What completion checks, care instructions and warranty apply?
