HEATING & COOLING / A SERVICE-PLANNING GUIDE
Boiler repair & installation
A boiler proposal needs to distinguish equipment work from the rest of the heating system. Clarify whether the goal is diagnosis, repair or replacement.
What to document before the visit
- Record the boiler model and known service history.
- Describe affected rooms and heating behavior.
- Gather earlier recommendations without opening equipment.
Understand the proposed scope
Ask which piping, controls, heat emitters and connection work are included. For repair, request the diagnosis and warranty. For replacement, ask how sizing, removal, installation and commissioning will be documented. Fuel, venting and pressure-related work belongs with a qualified provider; a written scope should identify who handles each part.
Questions worth asking
- Which parts of the heating system are included?
- What finding supports repair or replacement?
- What testing and operating handover are included?
