Air duct sealing planning
A duct-sealing proposal should identify the air-distribution problem and how results will be assessed. Cleaning and sealing are different services.
What to document before the visit
- Describe uneven temperatures and rooms that are difficult to condition.
- Gather earlier duct assessments or airflow records.
- Note accessible versus concealed duct locations already known.
Understand the proposed scope
Ask which ducts, joints and access areas are included, and whether damaged sections need repair. Clarify the proposed materials or method and how suitability is checked. Request baseline and completion information where testing is part of the proposal. Include responsibility for access openings and finish restoration in the price.
Questions worth asking
- What evidence identifies the leakage or distribution problem?
- Which areas are excluded or inaccessible?
- How will improvement be measured and reported?
